Joshua(Josh) Silva is a native of Edinburg Texas where he attended Edinburg North high school. Before entering his senior year of high school Josh committed to play baseball at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg. After a successful freshman year Josh decided to transfer to the University if the Incarnate Word where he would finish his collegiate career.
Josh was a four-year letterman at Edinburg North being only 1 of 5 freshmen to do so since the program began in 1991. During his career at ENHS Josh never hit below .400 managing to hit successfully in 22 straight games as a sophomore. Silva was an All-City, All-District and All-Valley honors recipient as a newcomer in 05-06, a offensive MVP in 06-07 and a utility player in 08-09.
After college Silva returned to the valley to work with the youth of his community as a Physical Education teacher for the mission school district. Returning to SA to continue his education Josh has dedicated his time to teaching the game of baseball to the youth of his community. Silva has also dedicated himself to furthering his education and knowledge of the game and has studied under many legends of baseball in efforts to better understand the science of hitting a baseball. Josh’s specializes in hitting, outfield and catching instruction.
